Open, Affirming, and Accessible to All

CCNB has completed educational processes to be designated Accessible to All (A2A) and Open and Affirming (ONA) by the United Church of Christ.

Open And Affirming Statement
We the people of the Congregational Church of North Barnstead, UCC, declare ourselves to be an Open and Affirming Congregation. Following Jesus’ example and with the power of the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to work to end oppression and discrimination and to bring justice, healing and wholeness of life for all people.

We welcome into the full life and ministry of our church persons of every age, gender, race, national origin, faith background, marital status and family structure, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, mental and physical ability, economic and social status, and educational background. Our life and ministry together includes sharing leadership, fellowship, challenges and joys, responsibilities and blessings, worship, baptisms, communion and marriages.

We joyfully embrace the dignity and worth of every person as we strive to follow Jesus’ teaching: “A new commandment I give you. Love one another. As I have loved you, so must you love one another.” John 13:34

Children and Youth

CCNB is children, youth, and family-friendly. We love our kids and welcome families of all kinds to participate, even welcoming the joyful noise of children in worship.

We offer Sunday school, confirmation for youth, family fun events and Horton Center, our church camp up in the White Mountains.  We want to develop more opportunities for service, both local and in neighboring cities.

CCNB Women

CCNB offers an open women’s fellowship that welcomes women from the church and surrounding community to connect for learning, support, and fun! We gather around book studies, boat trips on Lake Winnipesaukee, lunch meet-ups, movie nights, potlucks and brown bag dinners; whatever is current, available and of interest to the group.

COVID-19 has kept us apart and we look forward to planning a new schedule as soon as we can gather safely. All are welcome!

A Commitment to Social Justice

Our Mission Partners

Amenyo_logo_wide.jpg

Amenyo Foundation

Our church supports the ministry of Amenyo Foundation, a mission founded by CCNB members, Rev. James Christensen and Marcia Christensen. Amenyo does development work in the village of Kpenoe, Ghana, providing scholarships for deserving students who would, otherwise, have no hope of getting an education. It also works to help local villagers to develop better health care and facilities.

Caring Clergy

CCNB member, Rev. Gayle Murphy, founded a ministry called Caring Clergy. Families can connect with trained clergy for compassionate memorial services and other resources after a substance use death.
